Application for
Descendants of Pioneers Certificate
Notes to Applicants
The Cooroy-Noosa Genealogical & Historical
Research Group issues certificates in commemoration
of families that settled in the Cooroy-Noosa
District from 1854 to 1929
It must be proved that the intended recipient
of the certificate is a direct descendant
of such a pioneer. The recipient need not
be the applicant and neither the applicant
nor the recipient need be current residents
of the Cooroy-Noosa District. Membership
of the Group is likewise not a requirement
to receive or apply for a certificate.
To apply for a Descendants Of Pioneers certificate
you should complete the form attached and
return it with payment of $10.00 per certificate
and supporting documentation to the Group
at the address indicated. Payment may be
made by cheque or money order payable to
the Group.
The supporting documentation is required
to allow the Group to verify the ancestral
connection (without additional research).
The following types of information are required
:
· Pedigree chart showing the line of descent
from the pioneer to recipient of the certificate.
This chart may be supplied in any standard
pedigree chart form, including computer generated
charts.
· Evidence proving the line of descent claimed.
Documents that may be submitted include official
documents such as copies of birth, death
or marriage certificates, naturalization
papers, probate, parish records, etc. Other
documentation, if available, may be submitted
and will be assessed on its merits.
Please do not submit original documents -
copies only, please.
The Group will evaluate the documentation
provided and, if satisfied as to the validity
of the claim, issue the certificate. In the
case that the Group is not satisfied you
will be contacted to provide additional evidence.
If this cannot be provided then no certificate
will be issued.
There will be no refunds of the application
fee under any circumstances.
