How Noosa Became an environmental hotspot

Come along on Sat Aug 10th at 1 pm to hear Tony Wellington talk about how Noosa Shire became a home to a pioneering environmental movement. Accompanied by his own superb images, former Noosa Mayor Tony Wellington will tell of the unprecedented development of local environmentalism which led to Noosa Shire becoming an important refuge for threatened regional ecosystems and endangered species. Discover how local activists almost unseated a Queensland Premier, battled with neighbouring Widgee Shire, and inadvertently turned Noosa into a tourism magnet.
