About

  • The Cooroy-Noosa Genealogical & Historical Research Group Inc. began in July 1996 with the aim of collecting, promoting and encouraging the study of genealogy, heritage and local history.

  • Visitors and researchers are invited to peruse our extensive library of books, Australian and overseas records, journals, maps and indexes on CD and microfiche.

  • Our air conditioned research area is equipped with networked computers using the latest subscription sites on the internet.

  • Members and visitors enjoy access to our large collection of resources with experienced researchers on hand to share knowledge and pave the way for a novice to gain confidence and continue searching independently.

  • Workshops and lectures provide further education and entertainment in a pleasant environment. Social events create friendship and relaxation.

  • The group’s local history collection includes publications, oral histories, school records, photos and memorabilia dating back to earlier days in our region.

  • Reading, photocopying and refreshment facilities are available.

  • From January 2000 until December 2016, the group was housed under the Guide Hut in Miva St. The new home of the group is purpose built at 17 Emerald St, and is known as "Heritage Centre".
